How to Hide a Content Block
Hiding a content block within your Shopify store using the AppSections application involves a specific approach different from the native Shopify hide function. Follow these steps to correctly manage the visibility of a content block using our custom settings:
Important Notes
Avoid Native Shopify Hide: Do not use Shopify's native hide function for content blocks, as it can cause issues with the structure of the section. Instead, use our custom visibility settings.
Steps to Hide a Content Block
Select the Content Block:
Open your Shopify theme editor.
Navigate to the section containing the content block you want to hide.
Select the content block by clicking on it.
Open Block Settings:
In the right-hand pane, navigate to the settings of the selected content block.
Adjust Display Device Setting:
At the top of the block settings, locate the Display Device parameter.
This setting controls the visibility of the block with four options:
All: The block is visible on all devices.
Mobile Only: The block is visible only on mobile devices.
Desktop Only: The block is visible only on desktop devices.
None: The block is hidden on all devices.
Set to None:
To hide the block, select None from the Display Device options. This will make the block invisible on all devices, effectively hiding it.
This setting is equivalent to Shopify's hide function but works correctly with our system without causing structural issues.
Verifying the Change
Preview Changes: After adjusting the Display Device setting, preview your store to ensure the block is hidden as intended.
